    Descriptive: Adjectives for Class 1

     This Class 1 worksheet introduces learners to describing words (adjectives) focusing on size and colour. With tasks like sorting, circling, matching, multiple choice, and rewriting, children strengthen vocabulary while learning how adjectives make sentences clearer and more expressive. 
     

    Why Describing Words Matter in Grammar?

    1. Identify size adjectives like big, small, tall, short and colour adjectives like red, green, blue, black, white, yellow.

    Exercise 1 – Sort the Words 
    Students sort words into adjectives (big, round, red, tall) and not adjectives (cat, table, book, dog). 

    Exercise 2 – Circle the Pictures 
    Children circle the right picture for phrases like *A big ball, A small cat, A red apple, A blue car, A tall tree*. 

    Exercise 3 – Match the Following 
    Students match pictures with descriptions like *A red apple, A blue car, A tall tree, A small cat*. 

    Exercise 4 – Multiple Choice Questions 
    Learners choose the correct adjective to complete sentences such as *The apple is red, The tree is tall, The cat is small*. 

    Exercise 5 – Sentence Rewriting 
    Children rewrite incorrect sentences like *The banana is blue* → *The banana is yellow*.
