End-the-Word: Ending Sound Identification for KG

This KG worksheet guides young learners in recognising and filling in the correct ending sounds of simple CVC words. On page 3, children use an ending-letter bank (n, g, n, g, t, g, t, b, g) to complete words like ca_, do_, bu_, le_, su_, ra_, pi_, ho_, ba_, ru_. Learners also practise phonemic awareness by identifying whether common words end with the correct letter. Multiple-choice questions use picture cues to help children choose the correct ending letter for words like can, dot, jam, pin, bus, lid, hop, ant, rug, and bag.
Finally, students write their own words ending with letters t, n, g, p, d, m, s, e, b, and l, supporting spelling and vocabulary development.

    Why Ending Letter Sounds Matter?

Understanding final sounds helps early learners:
    1. Strengthen phonics decoding for reading.
    2. Spell simple CVC words correctly.
    3. Differentiate between similar-sounding words.
    4. Build accurate sound–letter association.
